byron the aquarius: apron ep
Francisco Espregueira
Deep appreciation for Byron Blaylock’s work. Over the past few years and under the name Byron The Aquarius he has produced countless stellar projects for labels like Sound Signature, Eglo Records and Wild Oats. Following his What Up Doe? Vol. 1, released in May on Shall Not Fade and his 2019 debut album, Astral Travelling, Apron EP is a ten track trip that traverses sunshine house shades, with spacey synths, funk rhythms, electro flourishes and layered instrumentals. Byron’s very own trademark sound.
Preparing a special album for Jeff Mills’ Axis Records (Ambrosia drops October 16th), Blaylock has become one of most respected, innovative artists in the American electronic scene. His debut on Stephen Julien's label comes in at just under 40 minutes, (digital versions include two additional bonus tracks) the Apron EP doesn’t fail to amaze us at every turn. Also available in vinyl, courtesy of Apron Records.
