emile londonien: SxB
Francisco Espregueira
Emile Londonien's first EP is entitled SxB and it's gonna drop tomorrow via Dope Tone Records. The Strasbourg-based trio, composed by Matthieu Drago (drums), Nils Boyny (Synth) and Théo Tritsch (bass) deliver a surprising project consisting of two original tracks and two remixes by Geoff Roy and Monomite. SxB explores, with outstanding results, the energy of what it seems a live session, in which the three elements just talk with each other in the form of unbearable levels of groove.
This 4-tracker is a groovy tribute to Strasbourg's growing nujazz and broken house scene, reminiscing of a ‘live’ feeling present in acts like Kamaal Williams, Yussef Dayes or Tenderlonious and his Ruby Rushton crew. SxB got early support from Gilles Peterson, Simbad or Pablo Valentino, attesting the supreme quality of this record - taking the Strasbourg city sound one level higher! Available in the highest digital standards, this ‘has’ to be first chapter of a story are eager to know more about. The Emile Londonien’s trio is a an act to keep under close watch.
