Guest MIX #12: Night Storytelling by Joint4Nine

We’ve been covering Joint4Nine’s work for a while. The moniker of Ivan Lozano (producer, DJ and co-founder of Nòmada Records) has been cutting various high-karat releases for some of our favorite underground labels such as Ondulé Recordings, Sengiley Recordings, Apparel Music, Broken District or GLBDOM. Most recently, he and his pal Jonahlo, delivered a tribute record to the roots of electronic dance music, creating the Rush City duo and releasing the Cosmic Vibrations EP with Handerk. The experimental mentality he imprints in his projects, never afraid of exploring different influences, have been cementing his status as an always-very-interesting producer and DJ.
It was with surprise that we reacted on how quickly he accepted our invitation of hosting the Guest MIX #12 for o sotão. He did it with a counter-offer, tho. “Can I do a mix of two hours? I want to tell a story.” And this is a fantastic two-hour night story. Effortlessly flowing from deep house, broken beat, hip hop, old school house, techno and afro, Joint4Nine’s storytelling is filled with sonic choices that are beyond amazing. These express a musical taste that only belong to the realest and that we have a deep pleasure of providing you.

“One of the things that I love the most is deejaying,
I love doing it everywhere and everytime, it’s a true pleasure for me.
Lately when people asked me for podcasts or mixes, I tried to do these with a two hour length.
Two hours is the perfect timing to tell a history with different genres and flavours on your mix.
This mix brings broken beats, jazz, deep house, soulful, hip hop, electro, old school house, acid house, techno and afro.
