HDSN, the man behind Nuthin' But A Soul Thing (NBAST), has been tunring his attention to only-vinyl releases. His latest EP, No Place Like Home, marks his second vinyl outing of 2023, following Beyond Linguistic Templates, showcasing his ability to infuse groovy tracks with soulful and uplifting melodies.
No Place Like Home kicks off the infectious disco-house groove of “Stronger” and its bouncy rhythms, swirling textures, and piano-driven melodies, exuding pure joy. The EP continues to explore a range of influences, with “Jaunty” paying homage to classic New Jersey garage with its rich organ sounds and sophisticated flair. “Sister” blurs the boundaries between UK garage, soulful house, and deep house, featuring uplifting piano chords and soulful vocal samples that create a truly joyful atmosphere. Finally, the title track “No Place Like Home” showcases HDSN's love for sparkling piano riffs, euphoric chords, and captivating vocal snippets.
