Atlanta native Stefan Ringer, one of our favorite producers and DJ’s, presents Soulflow EP on Black Acre Records. This four-track EP showcases his forever-evolving nature as a producer, tracing a lineage of sonic references from noir-like-r&b-ish deep house to wonky machine funk. As a prominent figure in Atlanta's dance music community, Ringer’s music, taste and vision reflects a genuine love for the underground, perfecting an approach that transcends genres, always offering new sonic frameworks for listeners to explore. Black Acre, known for its focus on very interesting underground projects, is the perfect home for Soulflow, which touches on a number of subcultural moments.
The title track, "Soulflow," is an infectious groove that captures the essence of Ringer's sound. "What's Your Sign" delves into hazier territory with its minimal hypnotism, while "Cleanse" takes listeners on a journey through dubstep, adorned with glistening keys and improvised melodies. "Body Know," born from an experiment with a bass guitar and beat-boxed percussion, fuses echoed vocals with driving analogue funk. Soulflow EP is an honest portrayal of Stefan Ringer's musical story, offering a glimpse into his past and a vision for his future.
