waajeed: get me in the zone ep
Francisco Espregueira
The renowned Detroit producer Waajeed concludes 2024 releases on his own DIRT TECH RECK imprint with the Get Me In the Zone EP. As per usual in Waajeed’s discography, this is a dynamic four-track offering showcasing the producer’s signature blend of soulful rhythms, jazzy influences, and innovative production techniques.
The title track opens the affair, with Miles Bonny's repetitive vocals and trumpet over hypnotic rhythms. "All the Way Thru" is another highlight, blending funk, soul, and house into a seamless and irresistible groove. Waajeed's exploration of new sonic territories is evident in "Neptune's Symphony," a track inspired by the new territories that the producer has been exploring. Rounding off the usual magnificent experience that is to dive into Waajeed’s music, “Dry Hatin” addresses his naivety about entering the dance music scene several years ago with a monster of a track that is our favorite of the bunch. Yes, yes - with Get Me In the Zone EP, Waajeed continues to push forward his own unique production style, delivering a collection of tracks that contain two qualities that exhale from his discography - timeless and forward-thinking. It drops on friday and will be available on vinyl.
