black loops: proto/emotions
Francisco Espregueira
A small one to end the week on a good note. Aterral has been building an impressive and diverse discography with releases from producers like Retromigration, Lis Sarroca, Idan Hana, Caleb Jackson or Carlo, the label’s head honcho. Proto/Emotions is their third release of 2022 and marks the return of one of our dance floor heroes, Black Loops - that previously had released Homesick through the same imprint. The moniker behind Riccardo Paffetti’s musical output has been solidifying his reputation as one of house music’s most creative and progressive producers and this EP cements the status.
Influenced by genres such as funk, soul, and disco, while being truthful to his origins and maintaining a style that is similar to the sound of the 90’s Italian house movement and early 00's NY House, the Italian wizard delivers three new cuts with wonderful weirdness worthy of your full attention. Proto/Emotions keeps the momentum going for Black Loops and spins out of control this friday. Available via Bandcamp.
