re:fill: cycles (remixes)

The month of May will brings us a new and awaited project curated by Cognitiva Records. Cycles by Re:Fill, a duo consisting of Gaetano DeCarli and Stefano De Santis, presents a deftly crafted blend of jazz laden polyrhythms and softly spoken melodic structures. The record is due to drop on May 16th, but before we shine the light on the full release, we introduce you Cycles (Remixes), containing three reinterpretations from some of the finest talents in the electronic-jazz-bruk scene: WheelUp, SofaTalk and Ben Hauke.
The base, created by Re:Fill, comprises rhythmic complexity, simmering melodic sequences, and an overall feeling of quietly building euphoria that only comes from jazz laden dance grooves. Taking on “Impulse” we listen to both SofaTalk and WheelUP working their magic. While the Italian delves into a cosmic tinge to compliment the already wide array of chordal tones, WheelUP takes things down to a saunter, with the keys enveloping the listener in what could only be described as a blissful bath of melody. To wrap things up, Ben Hauke really shifts perspectives on “Stillness”, with the delicate piano, that makes the original so intoxicating, remaining as a rhythmic motif, with plenty of intriguing elements thrown into the mix. Cycles (Remixes) is available digitally and is a magnificent prelude for Re:Fill’s album dropping next month - courtesy of Cognitiva Records.
