felipe gordon: those quiet eyes ep
Francisco Espregueira
Following on his joint release with Vagabundo Club Social, last year on Razor-N-Tape white label, Colombian wunderkind Felipe Gordon moves over to the Reserve imprint with a 4-tracker of beautifully crafted jazzy sampled house. Culminating two impressive years of many high-karat-gold releases through some of the best independent house-music labels, Those Quiet Eyes EP is a melancholic and deep trip, exquisitely produced by Gordon.
The record kicks off with “Those Quite Eyes of Yours” intertwining hollow-body guitar riffs around analog synth textures, moves into the late-nite piano stabs of “There’s a Part of Me That’s Always True”, then to the cheeky Tropicalia house groove of “Now You Caught My Heart For The Evening”, and concluding with the dreamy “That Night At El Bukowski”. Whatever your mood is, Gordon’s new EP might apply. Whether you’re at home or bumping in the club. Those Quiet Eyes is available on vinyl, courtesy of Razor-N-Tape Reserve.
