ivan conti: katmandu
Francisco Espregueira
Back for another solo release on Far Out Recordings the legendary drummer Ivan ‘Mamão’ Conti (Azymuth) drops Katmandu, accompanied by prolific German nu-jazz collective Jazzanova, MCDE Recordings & Faces Records’ Pablo Valentino, and Croatian house veteran Eddy Ramich with assistance from Zagreb duo Jan Kinčl & Regis Kattie.
Though recorded in the same sessions that created Poison Fruit, his critically acclaimed first album, Katmandu was mysteriously ommited by Mamão, either accidentally or on purpose, he’s not quite sure. Produced by the enormous Daniel Maunick, the original mix is followed by three high-standard remixes. This EP is available on vinyl, via Far Out - the second in a series of limited edition dance 12’’s celebrating the 25 years of the label.
