yazmin lacey: morning matters
Francisco Espregueira
Morning Matters is Nottingham-based singer Yazmin Lacey latest release. Composed by five tracks her latest project showcases her growing abilities and the trademark peaceful and graceful delivery out of her voice. Following Black Moon and When The Sun Dips 90 Degrees, Morning Matters features the collaboration of big names in the British jazz scene: Femi Koleoso and Ife Ogunjobi of Ezra Collective, Sarah Tandy and Moses Boyd.
While trauma and healing are portrayed in Black Moon and When The Sun Dips 90 Degrees respectively, Morning Matters is about moving forward, closing the trilogy started back in 2017. Since then Yazmin Lacey’s work has reached increasingly wider audiences. Discovering her voice, her melodic-feeling-transmission is a pleasurable activity. While the first pressing of the vinyl version is sold out, we wait for forthcoming editions.
