Ao longo de 2017 fomos recolhendo pequenas provas de "Every Eye". O segundo LP de Ivan Ave, depois de "Helping Hands", é uma das mais antecipadas obras do ano em território europeu. O título refere-se aos vários ângulos de visão - aqueles que nós escolhemos e aqueles que escolheram para nós. Ivan Ave vai falando disso durante o álbum, tipo tema recorrente no meio de produções brilhantes influenciadas pelo funk e pelo boogie proveniente dos US na década de 80'. Convite a embarcar numa viagem que vai muito mais além de "Every Eye"... pelo passado com olhos no futuro.
Ivan Ave e a sua crew correm sozinhos na pista. A simbiose de diferentes produtores músicos presentes no álbum dá um toque absolutamente original a "Every Eye". Mndsgn e Fredfades (companheiro na editora de Oslo - Mutual Intentions) voltam a contribuir em força. Kaytranada colabora com o lendário Dâm-Funk numa faixa cheia de vapor... Kiefer entra com magia nas teclas, assim como o parceiro próximo Arthur Kay Piene. Dj Harrison & Sir Froderick... a trompete de Kristoffer Eikrem. As combinações são quase infinitas. Funk, boogie, jazz, soul e hip hop para dias e dias. Ivan Ave aventura-se para lá das rimas, cantando nos refrões em estilo próprio.
O álbum não segue um género fixo e paira com leveza em cima de qualquer característica que lhe queiramos apontar. Não falta a sabedoria de Ivan Ave, gravando o disco como se fosse o seu próprio livro de auto-ajuda, lidando com os mecanismos da mente, do coração e do mundo que vê (ou não vê). "Every Eye" segue sim um conceito consistente com o universo de ideias e palavras de Ivan Ave. Musicalmente dinstinto do antecessor "Helping Hands", mas pertencente a esse mesmo universo de criatividade.
E entrando por "Every Eye" vibra todo este Sótão no momento em que é soltado um «hey» e a batida de "Now You See Me" cai... O resto segue pelos trilhos do boogie e do funk, aos quais Ivan Ave adiciona quantidades infinitas de flow. Em "One Eye" ouve-se «one eye open and one eye drifting away». Em "Squint" «don't stare to hard now... all that noise in the corner of your eye». Olhos abertos.
